I Be Illin’

by Mike Vardy on March 8, 2008

Illness.  The bane of everyone's existence during the month of February – sometimes longer.  Not only does it keep you from doing anything, it keps you from Effing The Dog as well.  Some of you new followers of the EffTD system may say both are the smae, but that's simply not true.  When you are forced to do do nothing, that is not Effing The Dog – and illness does just that.  Remember, when someone is Effing The Dog, they create an illusion of having little to no power, or the wish to have that at the very least.  When your body shuts down on you, you pretty much are powerless.  Effing The Dog becomes an afterthought, a mere dream well beyond your grasp.  And that truly sucks.

Here's what I've missed out on – as have you – for the past three weeks because of my bout with the flu, then pneumonia, then a lingering sinus cold.

1.  The EffTD Podcast.  With a terribly awful voice, the podcast has been on hold.  My voice just hasn't been up to snuff.  Tomorrow – when I gain an extra hour of daylight, I'll do it.  The interview with Brett Kelly from The Cranking Widgets Blog is part of it, so that'll help….that is, unless you actually follow through on what his advice is.  Stay strong, EffTDers.

2.  The review of David Bohl's books.  Xerxes has also been sick, meaning that he hasn't been on the ball, either.  I know, I'm disappointed in him, too.  At any rate, next week the first of the reviews will be posted of David's e-book trilogy .  Or toes and spirits will be broken.

3.  Consistent entries.  Sure, I could say that I've been Effing The Dog at an extraordinarily high level over the past three weeks.  But I can't lie to you.  As I stated earlier, the lack of health in my life over that tenure did me in.  I'm back, baby – and more "writier" than ever.  Trust me on that.  I won't let me down again.

So, stay tuned – and let's make sure we eventually track down those who have strayed as a finely-tuned EffTD army.  I'll see all of you tomorrow.

Right?
