Whilst I’ve been perfecting my own Eventualism strategy, I’ve been perusing the various comments left here at the site. I must say, I find them entertaining – even the ones that are wrong. And as I spent my time going through each of them, I came to a few conclusions…
1. There is clearly not enough of them. I’m not sure whose fault that is, but I know it’s clearly not mine.
2. Reading them takes up more time that I could have originally imagined. And I have a pretty original imagination. If there were more of them, I could EffTD more effectively. See #1.
3. The Internet is a faceless void, where people can be brutally honest about anything. Case in point: this here website. Comments are the voices that each reader has inside their heads that eventually get conveyed in digital format. Or something to that effect. Even if you intend to offend, it’s on such a non-intimate level (and yes, “non-intimate” is a word – I looked it up) that the offending remark actually doesn’t offend at all. And remember the old saying: “The best offense is a great defense” – which makes whatever I say more offensive than anything any comment left here could ever do.
So there you have it. Comments are the life-blood of the Internet. It makes you both feel noticed and is a fruitless attempt to put others on notice. It’s also another new and exciting way to ensure you are Effing The Dog.
Don’t thank me for that – comment me. Then…we all win.

I’ve been searching but can’t find exactly what Effing The Dog is…
Please clarify – because I think I want to do it!
Also, I fear Evan might be mistaken – it appears there are 527 unnecessary characters, not 566…
I appreciate that you only allow 750 characters for commenting, as it really allows me to EffTD. However, I am concerned that it may be 566 too many, as my comment is now complete. Hm.
Please, Twitter length comments. Straight to the thesis.
