I Must Meet This Man

I'm not sure what many of the words meant in his article, and he does mention "doing things" – which is a little of the mark for us EffTDers.  But the title itself (which brought a tear of joy to my eye) indicates to me that behind all of the big words and stuff-doing…he has the right idea.

In a way, I jive with what he’s saying – I’d rather play that work. However, I think hard work builds character, success, and self esteem so a life of complete ease and enjoyment would rob me of many things I hold dear. What do you think?

The great thing about work is that it can be play if you really enjoy it. Also, you can really draw out any task you’ve been given by adopting an “eventualism” mentality. By doing so, you’ll get to draw out the opportunity for doing more of what you want to do on your own (and the company’s) time, and will be given less responsibility as result. And the cycle continues…

And Effing The Dog isn’t easy – it is very difficult to do get things done eventually. Today we live in a “right now” society, and you need a lot of willpower to stay the course. That’s a real testament to one’s self-esteem.

If you work hard at Effing The Dog, you’ll also become a character – which is true character-building.
