First and foremost, you cannot actually write on an iPhone with a real writing tool (Styluses don't count, and aren't real writing tools anyway – they're drawing tools. Anybody knows that.). From what I've heard from those that actually use Moleskines, is that much of the joy in using them comes from the feeling of putting pen to paper. In addition, many experts say that you will retain more that you actually write down than you would typing it into a computer or trying to remember it in your head.
What was I saying?
Oh, yes. Another thing to consider is that iPhones don't have real pages, only virtual ones. Not cool if you're a Moleskine user, as the turning of pages often means the "dawning of a new day" (or week, month, etc.) – and the paper cuts one gets make any reminders you have the opportunity to be painful ones.
Finally, you have too many options. I mena, do you make your iPhone a simple journal, or one of those fancy city-based travel notebooks? With GPS now on the iPhone, you now have a dilemma on your hands in this regard.
Oh, and it takes longer than the time of the video to actually make it, too.
I propose you turn your Moleskine into an iPhone instead. Here's how:
1. Draw the shape of an iPhone on every page in your Moleskine. I am getting Xerxes to work on a template that you can download and use for reference for each section you'll require. It'll be posted in a couple of days.
2. Draw an Apple logo on the back of the Moleskine – or better yet, get one of those cool stickers Apple includes with every product they sell. Use one from an iPod package for the smaller notebooks, one from a MacBook package for the larger Moleskines.
It's that simple. There are, however, a few iPhone features you will not be able to have at your disposal with your newly-morphed Moleskine. Some include:
1. Taking pictures.
2. Listening to music.
3. Watching movies.
4. Making phone calls.
5. Use the new App Store.
6. Access the Internet.
So, it will be no different than an unlocked first-generation iPhone that you accidentally tried to upgrade to the iPhone 2.0 software.
It's really that simple! The ideal EffTD device – and at a fraction of the cost of the iPhone with eventual customization at your fingertips. Don't worry, you can thank me later.

You can take pictures using Moleskine. Just draw the scene. It will be more valuable than standard jpg file with YAS (Yet Another Sunset).
