It's no secret that the big movie this week is Space Chimps, but I'm looking forward to the upcoming Apatow-produced comedic tour-de-force known as The Pineapple Express. Penned largely by fellow Canadians (meaning not with large pens, but the fact it was mostly written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg), it looks as if it is the film that meshes several aspects of EffTD.
The film's premise is described as follows:
Lazy stoner Dale Denton has only one reason to visit his equally lazy dealer Saul Silver to purchase weed, specifically, a rare new strain call Pineapple Express. But when Dale becomes the only witness to a murder by Rosie Perez and Gary Cole, he panics and gives some of it to a roach at the end of the scene. Dale now has another reason to visit Saul; but I forget what it is. You'll just have to wait for the movie to come out in theatres in August.
It's nice to see Rosie Perez come back from children's television, and Gary Cole is simply awesome.
I hope this movie seems like it will go on forever.
