That’s it.
After reading David Allen’s latest book from cover to cover, and then reading his past works as well as everything Leo Babauta has done, I’m hooked.
GTD is the way to go.
I now know that everything is somewhat eventual, which Mr. Allen expressed in his recent interview with me. But I’m also certain that if you can get something done in two minutes or less you should do it immediately.
The brain can only take so much information in. As Homer Simpson has said, when you learn something new something old falls out of your brain – or something to that effect. I’ve gone back to writing things down, realizing that using a pen and paper after years of not doing so is as easy as getting back on a bicycle and riding it again. Without training wheels.
You also may have noticed that I said that I READ. Yep. I didn’t listen to these books – I read them. Every last word. It felt kind of good, so much so that I intend on doing it again…with different books.
I also emptied all my inboxes and decided on going with only one. Same goes with email. I chopped them all down to size like a blackbelt. I’d consider myself to be an Email Ninja, but I’m more of an Email Samurai…because I have honor that only scouts could dream of.
Speaking of honor, I’ve posted no graphic with this post to show my new respect for the written word. While a picture may tell a thousand of them, I can do so just as well with letters and such.
I’m going to stick with one productivity application going forward. I think it’s completely counter-productive to go from app to app. Which one I choose is a matter of time…either make some suggestions or give me two minutes.
Merlin, I get it now. I hope we can be friends.
I’m ready to get things done. I’m ready to make it all work. I’m ready for anything. Now. Today is the first day of the rest of my productive life.
It’s also April 1st.
Until tomorrow…
