I’m a pretty avid member of the Twitter community. I’ve been dubbed among the Twitter Elite in my community, and my social networking strategy echoes the sentiment of “meet locally, tweet globally.” It also echoes the opposite sentiment.
The one thing I’ve had a difficult time wrapping my head around is the idea of the hashtags with the days of the week in them. Each day of the week seems to have a corresponding adjective, often mashed together for a sweet alliteration. But there appears to be no cohesion, no universality with them.
That is about to change. I was going to do this sooner, but….okay, you got me. I wasn’t going to do this sooner. I’m so glad you “get” me now.
So, without further adieu, here are The Unofficial Official 7 Days of Twitter*:
#manicmonday: Forget #musicmonday – way too easy. This newly-christened day now ensures that you tweet only about all-girl bands from the 80’s to early 90’s. Or Prince songs.
#terribletuesday: An homage to the “Terrible Twos,” this is the day where you can bitch about your kids, regardless of age or whether they live with you or not.
#WTFwednesdays: This day is when you can bitch about all of the truly messed up moments that are going on in your life. Watch the spam, Tweeple.
#TankGirlthursdays: You must quote lines from either Tank Girl comics or from the film. No exceptions.
#FTWfridays: Retribution for #WTFwednesdays.
#stagnantsaturdays: You tweet the same thing over and over again. RT’s count as well here.
#supercalifragilisticexpialadocioussundays: The day when you can only Tweet in 98 characters or less.
*Reminder: These hashtags are to be used for the next day’s tweets, as opposed to the same day’s. But you already knew that, didn’t you?
