I am on a real T-shirt kick right now. As in, I would like to kick them from my wardrobe. But Xerxes, on the other hand, is a big T-shirt fan. He has even suggested that if we had T-shirts for Eventualism and EffTD, that he would wear it with pride. I think it’s tremendous that he’d do this for me. I’m more than willing to shill products on my site that brings both revenue and “fame anew.”
It’s going to happen – as soon as you design it for me.
(I smell a contest coming…)
So here’s how it works:
1. Design a logo/image or words to put on an Eventualism/EffTD T-shirt and/or other merchandise, and send it in. You can use EffTD, Effing The Dog or Eventualism in the design as you see fit.
2. Submissions are due by November 30, 2009. You can submit by emailing the image to mike@eventualism.com – make sure you put “This Brand Is Your Brand” in the subject line of the email. Be sure to submit it in the following format: JPG or PNG at 200 pixels per inch. This will make ‘em look real good, see?
3. The submissions will be judged by a panel of expert: Me.
4. The finalists will be voted on by you, the readers.
5. The winners will receive prizes, in the form of Amazon gift certificates. First prize will be $100 gift certificate, 2nd prize $50 and 3rd prize will get a free T-shirt containing the design that was clearly not theirs. You’ll also get a mention the week following the contest – which is giving you worldwide recognition (of sorts).
…and the name of the contest is called “This Brand Is Your Brand” because...
6. The winning images will be licensed as Creative Commons, so by submitting your images/content, you are agreeing to this. I will be putting them on a T-shirt and other merchandise of sorts, and as a bonus, you will receive 50% (of overall net profit) of each piece of merchandise sold that contains your design! That means anyone who enters could be eligible for this if their design is used now or in the future on anything that is sold. My shop is your shop, so to speak.
The gauntlet has been thrown down. Give me your best, people. I’m somewhat counting on you.

Cool contest idea!
I’ll see if I can think of anything. I’m no good at visual design, unfortunately…
