We’ve all heard of procrastination. Whether or not we take the time needed to learn about it is, while entirely another matter, what makes the habit self-fulfilling.
But have you heard about procastination?
Procastination is the result of an injury that one went out and sought – usually with some form of cast being put on the person as a finishing touch. Now, let me be clear…this is not something that is masochistic in nature. It may sound, look and feel that way – but it isn’t. To be honest, people procastinate when they play the sports they love or climb the mountains that they see or surf on the water that they drink. If you get hurt doing something you love doing – and it allows to be more eventual in other areas of your life, then the injury is worthwhile.
Now you have to be careful when accidentally injuring yourself. While it can bolster eventual productivity, if you are too extreme about it then it can put you on the shelf for a long time. And all you can do on a shelf is rearrange things, dust and marvel at the view. That can get boring after a while. Sprains are a good place to start as they heal far more neventually than outright breaks. So if you’re new at injuring yourself, go that route.
Breaks are helpful in that, if done correctly, garner both sympathy and praise. You’ll clearly be viewed as someone who takes her pastimes seriously and people will feel bad for you because of your incapacitation. Milk it for all it is worth; like when your tonidsOnce you’ve had a few cuts, lacerations, abrasions, scrapes and sprains under your belt, you’ll be ready to give yourself a break or two. Your lower body will probably also be pretty banged up if this truly is the case.
Remember this handy mantra; this will help you reach your ultimate goal of bolstering your eventual productivity through injury:
“If you break it, you bought it.”
