July was crazy. It had to be said, so I just did.
It was 36 years ago where it was only crazy (mainly in importance) because I was born within days of the month’s onset. Three decades later it became a bit busier because of my marriage at the end of the month. This year, it went to a whole other level of craziness when my son, Colton, was born. Add all of those annual events with the occasional talk and other “jobligations,” and you have one crazy month.
But I have eventually returned to this here site…again…and I’ve got both a little and a lot to prove.
The little to prove is the fact that Eventualism is viable. Always eventually has been – and always eventually will be. The lot to prove is the fact that I can expand its reach to the masses. Through both edutainment, interviews, missives and dismissives, I know it can be eventually done. All I need is the great equalizer: time and talent. Wish I could make a portmanteau out of that, but I cannot.
Speaking on portmanteaus, they appear to be a great method of delivering a message. Coupled with proper grammar they can be an affective tool in you’re quest to become a truly great Eventualist. Here are some examples:
Neventually
Originally outlined in one of the Essential EffTD posts, it is a combination of never and eventually. It has sine evolved into meaning that whatever it is used to describe will be expected to end, and never does – not even eventually.
Jobligation:
Things you have to do associated with work. Can also be used in general to describe your day job.
Jobjective:
An objective that is either borne from the workplace or is only important in the workplace but has no real “care factor” for you otherwise.
Timanagement:
While one would think that this is a portmanteau of “time” and “management”, this is not the case. This portmanteau can really only be used effectively by those who manage people named Timothy. Otherwise, not really useful.
Goalé:
The only multicultural portmanteau on the list here, it is a blend of the word Goal” and “olé.” It is used when one either reaches or strives for a goal after a really long sleep or party.
That’s all for today…I’ll be back less eventual than before. It’s bound to happen neventually. Until then, remember that inaction speaks louder than words.
